Combat - Boffer Weapons

RISING is based on a survival horror theme.  To keep with this theme, we offer interactive game play with the surroundings.  Fighting and combat are one of the most intensive parts to RISING.  The staff and volunteers who are acting as zombies and monsters can attack your character, and you in return can attack them.

This is done in two ways: Boffer weapons and foam dart blasters.

With boffer swords (foam swords/weapons which represent real weapons or zombie claws in game) can hit anywhere on the player's torso, arms, and legs.  When you swing the weapon, you will call "1 Damage" to allow the victim to know how much damage to take if they don't successfully block it.  Fighting is partly an out of game skill, and as fast as you can swing and call damage is your only limitation.

Please DO NOT swing your weapon with two hands at anytime! - This puts twice as much force behind the blow and can hurt our actors.
Don't aim for the head or groin, we understand that accidents happen, but if they continue to occur the staff may refuse to take damage, and may even pull you aside for a small training in combat.
